StandBy Support After Suicide is a national, federally funded, free service currently operating in several regions across Australia.  AnglicareSA provides the service to the whole of SA Country.  StandBy is a suicide bereavement response service that provides coordinated community response to families, friends and associates who have been bereaved through suicide.

StandBy is available to people, families, friends, associates, witnesses, schools, workplaces, groups and individuals, emergency and community responders and whole communities affected by suicide.  This service is available to people bereaved by a recent or past suicide.  Because people grieve in very different ways, support services may not be required for many weeks, months or even years in some cases.  Whenever help is needed StandBy will be there to provide support and assistance.

We can also provide professional development sessions, brief information sessions and run community workshops – all without cost.

Adelaide

StandBy Support After Suicide is delivered by AnglicareSA across the Adelaide metropolitan region.  StandBy is a suicide bereavement response service that provides a coordinated community response to families, friends and associates who have been bereaved through suicide.

We support individuals, families and friends, along with witnesses, First Responders, Service Providers, and whole communities affected by suicide.  This service is available to people bereaved by a recent or past suicide.  Because people grieve in very different ways, support services may not be required for many weeks, months or even years in some cases.

StandBy is accessible seven days a week, providing free face-to-face and/or telephone support at a time and place that is best for each individual, this is made possible by Commonwealth funding.  The program offers connections to local services and groups, which is individualised for each person’s unique circumstances. The support is continued for up to two years to ensure those that engage with StandBy are not alone and receive ongoing support.

We can also provide professional development sessions, brief information sessions and run community workshops – all without cost.
